The new Micro RONI X Stabilizer Gen 4 from CAA: In the world of Glock pistols, there are no shortages of upgrades or enhancements offered on the secondary market. Some provide aesthetic improvements while others improve the shooter’s experiences. After testing the New Micro RONI X Stabilizer Gen 4 from CAA, I can say that this upgrade does the latter. The new Micro RONI X Stabilizer Gen 4 from CAA provides the shooter with improved function, form, and simplicity.
Right out of the box you could see the upgrades CAA put into the Gen 4 vs. the Gen 3. Previously, the stabilizer version of the Micro RONI came only with an angled foregrip. With the new Micro RONI X Stabilizer Gen 4, you have the option of mounting an angled foregrip or a vertical foregrip that doubles as a mag caddy. Also, the redesign of the mag caddy has a button to release the spare magazine vs. friction on the Gen 3. This is a solid upgrade from CAA. Keep in mind that if you want to use the vertical foregrip, you will need to get the appropriate tax stamp, as this weapon will now be considered an AOW.
In addition, CAA extended the stabilizer brace when compared to the Gen 3 Micro RONI. This enhancement allowed me shoot much more comfortably without feeling like shells were flying in my face. Using my Form 1 Glock 17 in this setup, I utilized the vertical foregrip which caused Micro RONI X Stabilizer to feel more like the Micro RONI Gen 4 carbine. This is a significant improvement over the Micro RONI Gen 3.
The captive charging handle in the Micro RONI X Stabilizer Gen 4 is another great feature. I have misplaced this with the Gen 3 on more than one occasion (mainly when cleaning after the range). Not fun when I would head back, get ready to assemble my Micro RONI and realize that I did not have the charging handle. In addition to not having to worry about a critical piece being misplaced, inserting and removing your pistol is simple. I was pleased that CAA incorporated this upgrade as they did on the Micro RONI Gen 4 carbine version.
When testing this device at about 25-yards, with my ATF Form 1 approved Glock 17, I found that my accuracy improved and that overall recoil was reduced. For my setup here I kept it simple and utilized a Primary Arms red dot sight. I could not have been more pleased with the performance and functionality of this upgrade at the range. Though I did not test this with iron sights mounted (available from YRSInc), the rail is long enough to accommodate not only a primary red dot optic system, but back-up sights as well.
However, one of my favorite improvements that CAA did on the Micro RONI X Stabilizer Gen 4 was the redesign of the barrel shroud. Owning both a Glock 17 and a Glock 19, the Gen 3 Micro RONI’s were designed to work with a full size OR a compact Glock. The redesigned barrel shroud is adjustable so that the new Micro RONI X Stabilizer Gen 4 will work with both full size AND compact Glock models. Said differently, if you have a Glock 17 and a Glock 19, you only need ONE Micro RONI X Stabilizer Gen 4.
The redesigned barrel shroud does not stop there. CAA has some great accessories for the Micro RONI X Stabilizer Gen 4 and the triangular barrel shroud was designed to work in conjunction with these accessories such as the CMP compensator or the PMD Muzzle Device.
I have put over 300 rounds through this setup and didn’t have any issues whatsoever. The new Micro RONI X Stabilizer Gen 4 from CAA functioned flawlessly right out of the box without a single failure to fire or any other issues. Not only was I able to have tighter groupings, but this thing is simply fun to shoot. If you are in the market for a device to enhance or upgrade your Glock pistol, consider the new Micro RONI X Stabilizer Gen 4 from CAA. This device allows you to continue to upgrade your device when it comes to optics, lights, and iron sights.
